It’s only 6 days until the 2013 Fiesta Bowl where the Oregon Ducks will face the Kansas State Wildcats. Every day we’ll post a meaningful photo from the year to recap the eventful season and get fans prepped for Oregon’s fourth consecutive BCS game. Be sure to check out the rest of the Emerald’s football coverage leading up to the game.
The passion of faithful Duck fans in Autzen Stadium, arguably the loudest stadium in college football, is an asset that Oregon takes full advantage every home game of the season; delay of game penalties conferred on visiting teams is a familiar occurrence due to players’ inability to hear the snap count over the 125-decibel roars registered in Autzen. Yet Oregon fans face difficulties traveling to away games, as Eugene is not a major city or airport hub to travel from, compared to Los Angeles, Seattle, or many other PAC-12 schools. As a result, Ducks headed to the University of Phoenix stadium in the desert may very well find themselves outnumbered by K-State Wildcat fans. How could Oregon respond to a diminished crowd advantage in a neutral territory such as Glendale, Arizona?
