Oregon confirms Scott Frost’s promotion to offensive coordinator

What has been widely believed since Chip Kelly left for Philadelphia is now official. The open offensive coordinator spot left when Mark Helfrich was promoted to head coach has been filled by former wide receivers coach Scott Frost. Helfrich’s first hire, Matt Lubick, will coach wide receivers, the same job he held at Duke.

If Helfrich follows in Kelly’s footsteps and leaves for the NFL, history would indicate Frost would be a likely candidate for the head coaching job, as the last three head coaches were previously the Ducks’ offensive coordinator.
