Christopher Warren Mack has been arrested by the Eugene Police Department on suspicion of sex abuse near the University of Oregon campus. A composite sketch of the suspect provided by UOPD led investigators to Mack, according to an EPD press release (PDF).

Springfield Police assisted with Mack’s arrest on Feb. 5, who then transported him to the EPD. He was questioned by their Violent Crimes detectives, and later lodged at the Lane County Jail on one count of sex abuse in the first degree.

Eugene Police first learned of the incident when UOPD released a campus crime alert describing an indecent exposure incident. Later, that campus crime alert was updated to include an incident where a UO student reported being attacked by the person in the composite sketch near her apartment on 1420 Villard St. Mack, 35, allegedly approached the woman asking for directions, which she tried to ignore. He then allegedly grabbed her from behind and grabbed her chest and made other inappropriate motions, including wiping a bodily fluid on her.

Mack is still being investigated and is currently only being charged in the incident that occurred on Villard Street. He will be arraigned today.
