Running back Taj Griffin, one of the nation’s top 100 recruits for the 2015 season, has verbally committed to play for the University of Oregon.
Griffin shared the news via Twitter late Thursday evening.
I've decided to take my talents to the west coast and officially commit to University of Oregon #GoDucks !!

Various recruiting websites have touted the skills of Griffin, who is 5-foot-10, 180 pounds. Rivals has him as the 78th best player in the nation while 247Sports lists him in the 29th spot. Rivals also has him as the No. 2 running back in his class.
Griffin, who is out of Powder Springs, Ga., was predicted to commit to USC due to his friendship with latest Trojans signee Chuma Edoga. Both Griffin and Edoga were teammates at McEachern High School. He had taken an unofficial visit to Eugene in mid-March.
Besides USC and Oregon, Griffin had scholarship offers from Clemson, Ohio State, Florida State, Alabama and Georgia.
If Griffin signs he will join an already deep Oregon backfield including Byron Marshall, Thomas Tyner, Royce Freeman and Tony James.
