Wednesday marked the beginning of the early signing period for a variety of NCAA sports, including women’s basketball. The regular signing period beings on April 15.
Cazorla, a member of the U17 team for Spain, will further add to Grave’s depth at guard.
“In her class, she is the best PG in Europe and one of the best in the world,” Graves said on Twitter. “Uncanny vision and basketball IQ.”
Gildon — the No. 38 recruit in the 2015 class, according to HoopGurlz — averaged 15.2 points and 9.1 rebounds last year, leading the her team to the school’s first state championship.
“One of the best back-to-the-basket players in the nation,” Graves said via Twitter. “Amazing athlete & potential.”
She committed to Oregon verbally over Gonzaga, Purdue and Montana State in August.
“I wanted to play in the Pac-12 and challenge myself,” Gildon told The Spokesman-Review in August. “It’s close to home but not too close. I’ll have an on-my-own feeling.”
Yearwood represented Canada last year in the 2013 FIBA Americas tournament in Mexico. She scored 15 points and finished with 8 rebounds against the American team, pushing Canada to a Silver medal. She committed verbally in June.
Along with 6-5 center Jacinta Vandenberg, who has to sit out the 2014-2015 season due to NCAA transfer rules, Cazorla, Gildon and Yearwood will be Graves’ first true recruiting class since taking over at Oregon.
“Newcomers @Jizzzcinta @maitecazorla5 @OtiGildon @laurenyearwood should all make immediate impact for us next season. Tremendous class!” Graves said on Twitter.
