Despite being listed as the starting center in this week’s depth chart, Oregon center Hroniss Grasu will not play in the Pac-12 Championship game against Arizona, according to CSN Northwest. In addition, running back Thomas Tyner will miss his third consecutive game.
Both Tyner and Grasu have not seen game-action since Oregon’s matchup with Utah on Nov. 8. Senior guard Hamani Stevens has filled the void at center since, with Doug Brenner and Jake Pisarick flip-flopping at left guard.
At running back, Royce Freeman has continued his torrid pace and comes into tonight’s game with 1,185 yards on the ground and 16 touchdowns.

Matchup:
The game will be a rematch of the Oct. 2 matchup in which an unranked Arizona team upset Oregon 31-24. Since then, the Ducks have won seven consecutive games. However, there is no denying that Arizona has caused the Ducks the most fits over the past two years.
In their last two meetings, Oregon’s been held to 20 points per game and zero touchdowns. In addition, Marcus Mariota has committed six of his career 23 turnovers against the Wildcats.
Here’s a set of match-ups and players to watch heading into tonight’s game.
Marcus Mariota versus Scooby Wright:
This game will feature both the offensive (Marcus Mariota) and defensive (Scooby Wright III) player of the year in the Pac-12. The two became familiar with each other on Oct. 2 when Wright strip-sacked Mariota on Oregon’s final drive of the game, sealing a win for Arizona.
Mariota has since continued his dominance against every opposing defense he’s faced, passing for 3,470 yards and 36 touchdowns.
Conversely, Wright has accounted for 139 tackles and 27 tackles for loss on the season.
The two are the main component to their respective units and a lot will be riding on their performance tonight.
By the numbers:
– Arizona’s offensive line has combined for 161 career starts. It’s a contrast in continuity compared to Oregon’s offensive line, who will be without Grasu tonight.
– With Marcus Mariota behind center, Oregon is 0-4 when it scores less than 30 points.
– Arizona is averaging 256 rushing yards and 36.5 points in its last two games with Arizona.
– Royce Freeman has averaged 119.9 rushing yards per game in the Ducks’ seven-game win streak.
– Arizona is outscoring its opponents 238-141 in the second half this season.
