Oregon junior forward Jillian Alleyne is one of 50 women’s basketball players to be named to the Naismith Trophy Watch List for the 2014-2015 season, it was announced on Wednesday.
The watch list honor is her third so far this season. Alleyne was named to the Wooden Award watch list and Wade Trophy list a couple of weeks ago.
So far this season, she is averaging 17.0 points per game and 13.6 rebounds per game.
The 50-member list is selected by the Atlanta Tipoff Club’s Board of Selectors. They will also announce a list of 30 mid-season candidates.
After that, the Naismith voting academy narrows that group down to four finalists for the final vote. The award will ultimately be voted on by leading basketball journalists, coaches and administrators from around the nation.
Alleyne is one of seven Pac-12 student-athletes on the list. Others include: Brittany Boyd (California), Jazmine Davis (Washington), Reshanda Gray (California), Amber Orrange (Stanford), Kelsey Plum (Washington) and Sydney Weise (Oregon State).
