It was another busy weekend for Oregon sports with the winter coming to a close and spring getting under way. Here are the highlights:
-The biggest surprise of the weekend was Oregon women’s basketball’s upset victory over No. 19 Stanford. Honoring the seniors in the final home game of the year, the Ducks were able to snap an 18-game losing streak to the Cardinal with a 62-55 final score.
“I think closing out with a win, all those fans and our family in the stands — it was an indescribable feeling for us all,” Amanda Delgado said. “It ranks pretty high up there.”
-Oregon men’s basketball was also able to down the Cardinal, with a 73-70 victory. The win clinched a first round bye in the Pac-12 tournament. Three free throws, one from Dwayne Benjamin and the final two from Joseph Young, are what tipped the scales for the Ducks.
-Oregon acrobatics and tumbling stayed undefeated with a road win over Quinnipiac. Though they had their lowest score of the season on Sunday, a strong second-half performance sealed the Duck’s third-straight victory. The final margin was 274.315 — 264.065.
-Oregon baseball lost a nail-biter against UCSB, dropping the third game of the series 1-0. The loss came on a Gaucho solo home run in the bottom of the fourth, via Cameron Newell.
-Another loss for the Ducks came in Oregon men’s tennis, who was topped by Pepperdine 4-3.

-The new rec center on campus is not only beautiful, but also is tracking students’ workout habits and creating programs in response.
