Why are you attending UO?
My dad used to work here, and when he did work here I used to come here a lot and I just love the atmosphere of the school. And the marching band really drew me to come to this school.
How/why do you want to change the world?
I’m going to kind of beat around the bush with this question. I’m the kind of person who tries to find the positive side in everything, and I think that’s really important in anything that anyone does. By looking on the brighter side of things it’s easier to have a happier life, and if one person is happy it can spread to other people. So I want everyone to be happy and positive.
What has been the best part of your college experience?
I have to say that being a part of the marching band here has been the best part of college experience so far.
What are you proud to have been involved with at UO?
Marching band again! I am also involved in a music fraternity too, it’s called Kappa Kappa Psi, and I really love that because our goal is to spread music throughout our school and our community.
What are some of your goals after college?
My goal is to get into grad school so I can get my graduate degree so that I can pursue my career choice, whichever one I end up choosing. I would like to reach a point in my life where I am able to give back to all of the organizations that have helped me along the way and made me who I am.
Who’s your biggest role model/influencer?
In life, I’d probably say my mom just because she’s definitely the kind of person I want to see myself becoming. In marching band, I’d have to say either the director of athletic bands here, his name is Dr. Wiltshire. Or a former drum major from the Oregon Marching Band, he worked with my high school band. His name is Daniel Hartley. Both of them have inspired me to be a better person, a better leader, a better musician.
