Michael Keaton in Birdman: Keaton plays Riggan, who once played an iconic superhero, attempts to regain his ego, family and acting career in the days leading up to the opening of his Broadway play.
Eddie Redmayne in The Theory of Everything: Our second British actor nominated this year portrays world renowned Stephen Hawking, a cosmologist who battles from a progressive motor neuron disease. The film looks into both his diagnosis and his relationship with his wife.
