Jenna Prandini set school record on Friday, recording a time of 22.87 in the 2oom dash at the Don Kirby Elite Invitational in New Mexico.
Prandini’s time narrowly broke former record holder Phyllis Francis’ mark of 22.92 last season. The Bowerman Award candidate’s time is also the best in the world this season.
Finishing close behind Prandini was freshman Ariana Washington, who posted a time of 23.27. Washington finished third in the event and fourth in the school records books, inching closer to an NCAA Championship berth.
Jasmine Todd placed first in the long jump with a mark of 21-1.25 (6.43m) on her second attempt. Todd now ranks third in the country in the long jump after the performance.
In the men’s 200m, Arthur Delayney (21.16) finished fifth in his event and third in school history. Marcus Chambers (21.39) and Ben Thiel (21.43) recorded the fifth- and eighth-fastest times in Oregon history.
At the Husky Classic in Seattle, Greg Skipper picked up another victory with a toss of 68-10.75 (21.00m) in the weight throw.
Oregon will continue to compete in both meets tomorrow. Other Ducks will participate in the Millrose Games in New York beginning at 9:45 a.m. PT.
Highlighting the Millrose Games will be the men’s distance team, featuring Edward Cheserek, who returns to his high school state looking to break Mac Fleet’s school record in the 3,ooo m.
