— Oregon football takes on USC this weekend after completing a 38-36 upset of Stanford last week. The defensive line was key for the Ducks win over the Cardinal, and young players on the line are preparing to step up and take over for senior Ducks. For a shot at the Pac-12 North, Oregon will have to beat No.22 USC Saturday, while Cal will have to defeat No. 15 Stanford.
— Oregon volleyball made it one step closer to the postseason with a fourth set win over WSU Wednesday, with help from sophomore Frankie Shebbie. The Ducks gained some confidence after beating No. 9 UCLA last week, but the Ducks will need to win at least two more matches if they hope to make the NCAA tournament.
— Dillon Brooks of Ontario, Canada, who was part of the Canadian Pan American team, made his way back to UO for his sophomore year. Men’s basketball takes on Savannah State at home this Friday following a big win over No.20 Baylor last week.
— Oregon track announced 13 new athletes who will join the program next year. The newbies hail from nine different states and one from Australia. But close to home, four-time top 10 rank at the Oregon Cross Country Championships, Jackson Mestler of Eugene, joins the Ducks as one the new 13.
— Women’s basketball had its home opener against Hampton on Thursday night. Before the game, Jillian Alleyne was just six rebounds short of taking Oregon’s rebound record.
— Women’s tennis announced its 2016 schedule, including nine home matches beginning at the end of January. New recruits Kennan Johnson and Schweta Sangwan earned ink for the Ducks in the Kramer Invitational earlier this month.
— On the club tennis circuit, the team won its most recent tournament in Yakima last weekend. The defending regional champions hope to maintain that title with help from their new president.
