Oregon softball’s first game at the new Jane Sanders Stadium will come against Stanford on March 24.
On Wednesday, the program released its full schedule, which features 16 homes games at its new $16.5 million dollar stadium.
Oregon returns considerable talent for 2016, including pitcher Cheridan Hawkins and third baseman Jenna Lilley. Oregon’s schedule includes two games on the ESPN family of networks and 12 games on the Pac-12 Networks.
The Ducks will play their first six weeks of the season on the road. Their 2016 campaign kicks off against Cal Poly and Georgia State on Feb. 12 at the Kajikawa Classic tournament in Tempe, Arizona.
In total, Oregon will see 15 teams that made the NCAA tournament last season, including five which made the Super Regional round of play.
The Ducks reached the Women’s College World Series last year, the program’s third time in the past four years.
In addition to seven new freshmen, Oregon’s roster includes Lilley, who led the team with a .427 batting average in 2015. She’ll be joined in the infield by Nikki Udria, Danica Mercado and Hailey Decker. Janelle Lindvall returns behind the plate for the Ducks. Her sister, Lauren Lindvall, also returns. She played both in the infield and outfield for head coach Mike White.
