(Updated 6:58 p.m. with more photos) The University delayed the start of Wednesday’s finals and the opening of campus until 10:00 a.m following a severe springtime snow storm that slammed the Eugene-Springfield area in the early morning. At 9:40 a.m. the University pushed that delay further back until 1:00 p.m. The heavy wet snow has caused numerous trees all-around campus to collapse and blanketed heavily-walked sidewalks with a thick layer of compact slippery snow. It is unclear whether or not the snow will clear up by this afternoon.
