University Department of Public Safety sent out a campus crime alert email March 13 detailing a robbery that occurred Sunday, March 11, in the area of East 15th Avenue and Ferry Street. One of the two victims is a male University student.
The victims reported to the Eugene Police Department that, while walking in the area, a green four-door Chrysler 300 sedan pulled up to the curb across the street. The driver’s side rear window rolled down and the occupant told the victim that he had had a bad day, that he had a gun and that he wanted the victim’s wallets. The suspect then ordered both victims to drop their valuables on the ground. The two complied and then promptly ran away.
The victims reported four occupants in the suspect vehicle; all were reported to be males in their 20s. Only the one occupant seated behind the driver spoke to the victims. The suspect claimed to have a gun, but the victims never saw the weapon.
Anyone with information about the incident should call the Eugene Police Department at 541-682-8888.
