Manny Garcia, candidate for Student Planning and Construction Committee, pulled himself off the ballot Wednesday.
Garcia’s decision came after a grievance was filed by Blake Sedgley, We Are Oregon campaign manager, calling for his removal from the ballot. The grievance sates that Garcia was involved in creating a phishing website used to obtain email information from people involved in ASUO elections.
“I’m glad he took the responsibility for his actions,” Sedgley said.
According to an email sent by Elections Coordinator Cedar Cosner, Erin Kennedy from the We Are Oregon campaign will be granted the win due to Garcia’s decision.
