The Ben and Lamar campaign intends to help out Katie and Alex slate members in this week’s election, in order to form one large progressive party.
“There is a unified progressive campaign now,” presidential candidate Ben Bowman said. “We now have support from those who weren’t with us in the primary.”
Katie Taylor from the Katie and Alex campaign is also lending a hand.
“She is helping us retain progressive volunteers to get Lamar and I @@AHHHHHHG!!!!@@elected,” Bowman said.
Everyone who appears independent on the ballot was previously part of the Katie and Alex campaign, but will now be supported by the Ben and Lamar campaign. One of the people running as an independent is Manny Garcia, @@http://asuo.uoregon.edu/executive.php?a=12@@who was a part of the alleged phishing ploy aimed at Ben and Lamar.
“We are coming together to create one big party so we can defeat the conservatives,” Bowman said.
We Are Oregon presidential candidate Laura Hinman@@http://directory.uoregon.edu/telecom/directory.jsp?p=findpeople%2Ffind_results&m=student&d=person&b=name&s=Laura+Hinman@@ was surprised by the teaming up of the two groups.
“The fact that Ben Bowman would join forces with Katie Taylor less than a week after she committed the most egregious campaign violation in ASUO history speaks to how desperate special interest insiders are to preserve the system of political patronage,” Hinman said. “It is further proof that they would rather prioritize their own political future instead of progress and change.”
Katie Taylor was unavailable for comment. Elections will continue through the end of the week.
