The ‘Best of Campus’ winners were determined by a student vote. The winners do not reflect the opinion of the Emerald.
“Have you seen the funniest joke book the world has ever known?” If you’ve walked down East 13th Avenue any day of the week, in rain or shine, you have no doubt been popped the question.
Since graduating from the University of Ohio and moving to Eugene, David Miller, or “Frog,” has been selling his joke books at storefronts and the Eugene Saturday Market for over 25 years. It cost him a fight, though. In 1990 he was ticketed for selling his books on the street without a license. He won.
With a nickname he earned in high school (given to him for the sound of his voice), a decorated cap, cascading beard and goggles, it’s no wonder he was voted the best character on campus. And that’s exactly what Frog strives to be. He believes doing business uniquely is a necessity to doing his job, which is why you’ll find yourself squeezing a rubber chicken after buying “Recycled Jokes by Frog”, which he sells at $3 per adult book.@@http://kezi.com/page/226554@@
Unsure about making the purchase, or just nervous about approaching the guy? Don’t be, Frog is not only friendly and welcomes chatter, but he’ll most likely read you a few jokes upon request.
