Oregon Ducks softball, who were blown out 10 to 0 Thursday night, bounced back Friday night defeating the UCLA Bruins 3 – 2 at Howe Field on “Strike Out Cancer” night. The Ducks and Bruins exchanged two no-run innings before Oregon’s Kaylan Howard hit a double that transitioned into two scored runs for Oregon. Oregon’s Samantha Pappas added a run in the fourth after she stole second and an error by the Bruins allowed her to steal home. The Bruins bounced back into it in the six with two runs scored, but a double-play by Oregon’s Kelsey Chambers in the 7th and a subsequent pop-fly caught on a hit thereafter meant the game was finished, allowing the Ducks a 3 – 2 redemption. Oregon and UCLA will finish their series at Howe Field on Saturday at 12:00 PM.
