ASUO Elections Coordinator Cedar Cosner@@http://asuo.uoregon.edu/executive.php?a=12@@ is awaiting confirmation to be the next Constitution Court justice.
He was chosen by an interview committee and then approved by ASUO President Ben Eckstein@@checked@@.
“The same background Cedar brought to elections coordinator of conflict resolution will make him a very balanced judge,” Eckstein said. “He was a very strong applicant.”
ASUO Chief of Staff Kerry Snodgrass,@@http://asuo.uoregon.edu/executive.php?a=12@@ who was on the interviewing committee, is excited about her decision.
“He has extensive experience working with the ASUO Constitution and the Green Tape Notebook@@http://asuo.uoregon.edu/docsmanuals.php?a=39@@ through his work as elections coordinator,” Snodgrass said. “He also had experience collaborating with Con Court. He will make a stellar judge.”
Although Cosner was appointed by the ASUO Executive, he will not be confirmed to the post until he presents in front of ASUO Senate Wednesday night.
“He seems like a very qualified candidate,” Con Court Chief Justice Nick Schultz said@@checked@@. “I am personally excited to see him up for this position.”
Cosner is incredibly honored to be considered for this position.
“After my time as elections coordinator,” he said. “I really want to stay involved with protecting student voice on campus, and Con Court is a sure way to do that. I think I can bring a lot to the table when deliberating with other members of Con Court.”
