Take a Minute is a daily post that will catch you up on Internet happenings on campus and around the world.
Yesterday was a sad day for children and children at heart everywhere, as author and illustrator Maurice Sendak, most known for “Where the Wild Things Are”, died at the age of 83.
Luckily for us, he sat down for this gem of an interview with Stephen Colbert for “The Colbert Report” earlier this year, in which he calls Newt Gingrich “an idiot of great renown”, among other hilarious soundbites.
All right, enough sadness for one day. Onto the fun stuff!
President Obama today announced his support for same-sex marriage in a move that thrilled my Facebook friends and Twitter follows.
“Same-sex couples should be able to get married.”—President Obama

Barack Obama you are so my boo for what you did today — Whitney Cummings (@WhitneyCummings) May 10, 2012
@barackobama inspires me once again. True leadership is when you are willing to risk your power and voice so that ALL of ours can be heard. — Justin Timberlake(@jtimberlake) May 9, 2012
Pres. Obama had dinner at our house last night. When Dee and I had a vicious fight over by the fridge he must’ve realized that love is love.

The real threat to the sanctity of marriage are the people playing Nickelback at their receptions.

Video of the Day:
My sister got me hooked on these videos recently, in which some guy pronounces things funny. Sounds stupid, but I swear you will be hooked. The below video, for “cabernet sauvignon”, was a particular favorite.
