In the men’s 100-meter dash, Arthur Delaney@@checked@@ advanced after finishing third in his heat in 10.38. Junior Joeal Hotchkins@@checked@@ moved through with a time of 10.39, which moved him into the No. 10 spot in Oregon history.
In the women’s 100, Amber Purvis@@checked@@ ran a season-best 11.61 and advanced to Friday’s quarterfinals. She was eighth in her heat in 11.61, but still advanced. English Gardner@@checked@@ won her heat easily in 11.26 to advance.
Mike Berry@@checked@@ and USC’s Josh Mance@@checked@@ finished in a dead heat in the 400 meters at 42.92. Both advanced to Friday’s 400 quarterfinal.
Phyllis Francis@@checked@@ made a late charge over the last 50 meters of the women’s 400 meters to finish third in 54.29 and advance. Chizoba Okodogbe and Devin Gosberry@@both checked@@ also advanced on time to Friday’s 400 meter quarterfinal.
In the men’s 10,000 meters, Cam Levins@@http://runningtimes.com/Article.aspx?ArticleID=24523@@ of Utah won, with Oregon’s Luke Puskedra claiming second place and a spot in Des Moines for the NCAA Championships.
