Didn’t get tickets to Sasquatch? Don’t have a big, fun camping trip planned? Don’t worry, there’s still plenty to do around Eugene this weekend.
10. Baseball is happening in Corvallis all weekend — Baseball’s Civil War series is happening Friday, Saturday and Sunday about an hour north of us. Pile into a friend’s car and catch the Ducks’ last regular-season action. @@http://www.goducks.com/SportSelect.dbml?&DB_OEM_ID=500&SPID=11401&SPSID=94835@@
9. Pile in the car to take a trip to the beach — it’s just over an hour trip from Eugene to Florence.
8. Get in some workout hours at the empty Rec Center — the Student Recreation Center is always busy, but not this weekend!
7. Bingo night at Sam Bond’s — Monday night, if you’re into that sort of thing (and over 21), it will be much less crowded.
6. For the tough-livered 21+ers, bar crawls tend to be rather successful around the area — try to make Rennie’s, Taylor’s and Webfoot before catching “Sweet Caroline” at Max’s.
5. Save room to do absolutely nothing productive for a day — Netflix, Skyrim, etc. Monday is the last day off before the homestretch of spring term.
4. On an opposite note, catch up on reading — read that book you’ve been putting off because of school reading, or reading for summer and fall classes.
3. Spend the weekend at home — free food and laundry is hard to beat if you’re from Portland or somewhere else close.
2. Float the McKenzie River — it might not be the awesome weather it was a couple weeks ago, but it’s a fixture of Eugene.
1. Plan a day trip to one of the many parks right around town — hike up Spencer Butte or take a trip to Skinner Butte. There’s a reason we’re called the “Emerald City”, and the end of spring is the best time to take it all in.
