The nationally ranked No. 1 (No. 5 in Baseball America) Oregon Ducks went scoreless for five innings before its offense finally kicked and beat the Portland Pilots 2 -1. The Pilots got to the scores table first, tallying a run at the top of the sixth inning. The Ducks, with two outs notched into the scoreboard, answered via sophomores Kyle Garlick and Ryon Healy, who both recorded an RBI double, scoring two runs for the Ducks. Scoreless innings followed as the Ducks and Pilots defenses held each other at bay, allowing Oregon to record its ninth straight victory. The Ducks will head to Corvallis this weekend for a three-game civil war series to close the regular season.
