The weekend got off to a rough start on Saturday as the Ducks (4-2) were overwhelmed 6-1 at the hands of a loaded Cardinal squad. Oregon lost the opening doubles point as Stanford swept through each of the three pairings and the Ducks would go on to win just one singles match as sophomore Rabea Stueckemann defeated Natalie Dillon in three sets. @@http://www.goducks.com/SportSelect.dbml?&DB_OEM_ID=500&SPID=249&SPSID=4414@@
“I thought we competed really well, especially at certain spots,” head coach Paul Reber said to GoDucks.com. “The scores weren’t an indicator of how tough the matches were.”
Things went much better on Sunday, as the Ducks blew by Portland State 7-0. It was a thoroughly dominating performance, as Oregon swept through the entire match without losing a set and won the doubles point easily 3-0.
“The girls came out ready to play and ready to take care of business,” Reber said to GoDucks.com. “Anytime you can limit the number of games your opponents win, it’s a good thing.”
