The No. 20 Oregon women’s golf team shot a final-round 301 (13-over par) on Tuesday and finished tied for eighth in the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate tournament in New Orleans. Though freshman Cassy Isagawa placed in a tie for second individually, no other Duck ranked higher than 25th place. @@http://www.golfstatresults.com//public/leaderboards/team/static/team3169.html@@
After shooting a 294 (six-over par) in the first round of the tournament and vaulting into an early second-place slot, the Ducks fell steadily over the next two days to sixth after the second round (302, 14-over par) and finally eighth when all was said and done. The team’s final score of 897 was 33-over the course’s par of 864 and marked the third-straight tournament in which the Ducks finished outside of the top five.
The highlight of the trip was Isagawa’s dominant showing in the second round, during which she broke a tournament record and tied a school one with a score of 65 (seven-under par). That impressive score put Isagawa in the individual lead through two rounds, but a four-over 76 in the final round dropped her to a second-place tie. @@http://www.golfstatresults.com//public/leaderboards/player/static/pdetail84979_3169.html@@
