The Oregonian is reporting that after a two-month discussion between Horton’s camp and the University, the former College World Series Champion has agreed in principal to a new deal that should keep Horton in the PK Park dugout until he retires.
According to the report, Horton’s deal is similar to his previous contract and will be finalized by the end of the week.
Horton’s Ducks were a heartbreaking game away from the College World Series last year in just the fourth season of its modern era. The Ducks hosted both a regional and super regional at PK Park and have recently added a covered bullpen and practice area to PK Park. Overall in his first four years at Oregon, Horton coached the Ducks to a 133-111-1 record with postseason appearances in 2012 and 2010. @@http://www.oregonlive.com/ducks/index.ssf/2012/11/oregon_baseball_coach_george_h.html@@
