Big changes for Eugene’s minor league baseball team
The Eugene Emeralds will debut redesigned uniforms and merchandise featuring Sasquatch as the new team logo.
At a party hosted by Ninkasi Brewery Tuesday evening, the Eugene Emeralds unveiled a series of new logos for the team, and Sasquatch was the lead character.
The logos are on merchandise available to fans beginning this morning and will also be on new uniforms and baseball hats expected to be ready in January.
The design features Sasquatch gritting his teeth while carrying a tree over his shoulder. Emerald green, neon green and black are the primary colors in the design, The Register-Guard reports.
Eugene charter school will keep director
Paula Praus-Williamson retained her job as director of the embattled HomeSource Family Charter School after an emotionally charged meeting that drew more than 60 people Tuesday night.
In a unanimous vote, the HomeSource board approved a motion placing Praus-Williamson on probation for six months and giving her a plan of action to help her improve her communication skills. That plan is to be overseen by the school’s personnel committee and reviewed by the board at the end of the school year.
HomeSource contracted with the Eugene Sudbury School, a newly opened private school, to educate some of its students without first seeking permission or disclosing the arrangement to the Bethel district, a violation of the charter school’s contract with Bethel, according to district administrators, The Register-Guard reports.
