Springfield man injured in motorcycle accident
A 55-year-old man sustained serious injuries to one of his legs and is being treated in the intensive-care unit after crashing into a guardrail in Springfield around 11 p.m. The man was thrown about 100 feet after the crash, according to The Register-Guard.
Speed and alcohol are believed to have been a part of the crash. @@checked@@
Pit bull survives botched neutering
A pit bull was found bleeding outside a Springfield Safeway on Sunday. The pit bull was abandoned and tied to a shopping cart with a bowl of dog food and a sign that read, “Anything helps.”
Jan Durham, a worker at the Safeway, found the dog and took him to the nearest veterinarian, according to KVAL. The pit bull sustained injuries from a botched neutering but was put through surgery and is now recovering.

Indoor BMX track set up in Lane Events Center
BMX racers from all around the region came to the Lane Events Center Saturday and Sunday to test ride this year’s indoor BMX track. The event marked the beginning of the Emerald Valley racing season.
People of all ages and skill levels are encouraged to visit the track.
Emerald Valley BMX riders compete until April, holding races every weekend, according to KVAL. @@checked@@
