The Oregon Ducks (5-1) are coming off their first loss of the season, a 77-66 loss at the hands of No.17 Cincinnati in the Global Sports Classic in Las Vegas. Oregon pulled off a surprising victory over a ranked UNLV squad, but UO came up short against the Bearcats in the tourney final.
The University of Texas at San Antonio Roadrunners (3-2) are also fresh off a loss at BYU and look to come to Eugene tonight at 7 p.m. to steal a win against the Ducks.
UTSA features a pair of score-first guards in seniors Kannon Burrage and Michael Hale III,@@goutsa.com roster@@ who combine for more than 34 points per game.
Ducks’ head coach Dana Altman has tinkered with his starting lineup as of late, giving transfer rebounding-specialist Arsalan Kazemi@@checked@@ his first start against Cincinnati, equating in a larger starting lineup for the Ducks. Oregon has previously been running with a three guard, one forward, one center look. With Kazemi in the starting five it became a more traditional two guards, two forwards, one center set, bumping the size up for UO.
Center Tony Woods will look to get back on track for the Ducks, as despite starting every game this season, fouled out of the last two games, totaling only 16 minutes of play.
Game time is set for 7 p.m. at Matthew Knight Arena tonight.
