94 spectators ejected during Oregon-Stanford game
According to The Register-Guard, officers from four different law enforcement agencies removed a total of 94 people from Saturday’s football game. Alcohol, unauthorized entry, and public urination were among the reasons people were ejected from Autzen.
Eugene airport sees increase in holiday traffic
The Eugene Airport is projected to experience its second busiest day in history this Wednesday, with 1,734 people expected to depart for Thanksgiving. This prediction runs counter to AAA’s national forecast that air travel will decrease by 1.7 percent, according to The Register-Guard.
Spokeswoman Cathryn Stevens believes the increase in individuals flying out of Eugene for Thanksgiving is a sign of economic recovery.
Sexual abuse charges dropped in exotic dancer case
Eliaser Baez-Duarte has been cleared of a sexual abuse misdemeanor charge after being arrested on Nov. 11 for allegedly exposing himself and forcing himself on an exotic dancer her while she performed a private dance for him at a Springfield strip club.
Video evidence did not match up with the dancer’s accusations, according to The Register-Guard. Baez-Duarte did plead guilty to a second charge of resisting arrest and will spend three days in jail.
Walmart to open by Gateway
Walmart has announced that it will open a Walmart neighborhood market in the old Circuit City building next to the Gateway Mall, according to KEZI.
The exact opening date is unknown, but Walmart plans to hire 65 associates when the market opens.
