First it was De’Anthony Thomas. Now, it’s Bryan Bennett. A source tells OregonLive that the Ducks backup quarterback has also been taking reps on defense. As for how soon or how often Bennett will be seeing time on defense, it’s unlikely Chip Kelly is going to say anything about it. When the Ducks coach was asked about the chance of seeing Thomas on defense he said that like injuries, details of practice were simply not going to be discussed.

At this point, it’s safe to assume most college football fans have heard the name Johnny Manziel, or his nickname, Johnny Football. The freshman quarterback has been running circles around the SEC this year and has even been earning some Heisman consideration. But with his two brilliant performances in the last two weeks, Marcus Mariota is starting to be mentioned in that discussion as well. ESPN debates which quarterback (who could have been competing for Oregon’s starting job last fall had Manziel not decomitted) has more upside.
