ASUO Fall Street Faire
The Street Faire is back this week, turning east 13th into a festival filled with music, food, clothes and crafts. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. starting Oct. 10 and going through Oct. 12.
The EMU Amphitheater will be filled with live music courtesy of the UO Cultural Forum.
Dumpsters in downtown Eugene catch fire
During the late hours of Sunday night around a half dozen dumpsters were set ablaze. The fires were set every two blocks along West 7th Avenue between the hours of midnight and 3 a.m.
According to KMTR one of the dumpsters was behind the Goodyear Tire store while another started near Jiffy Lube.
West Eugene EmX vote happens this evening
The Lane Transit District board of directors will be voting on the rapid-transit bus project that has been fairly controversial. The LTD board is expected to unanimously support the project according to the Register Guard.
Representatives from LTD also think that the Federal Transit Administration will endorse the districts findings that the project will not have a harmful impact.
Springfield call center looking to hire 140 new employees
Royal Caribbean’s Springfield call center is the source of good news lately as business increases and some call jobs are moved to the Springfield location.
Entry-level workers start at $10.08 per hour with the opportunity to earn performance-based incentives according to the Register Guard. The workers would answer calls from travel agents.
