School bus driver hero
Newport school bus driver Jim McIntyre saved the life of student passenger, Nekko Deutsch, from choking on a plastic ice cube during a ride back home, reported KGW.
McIntyre gave Deutsch the Heimlich maneuver twice before spitting out the object.
Because Deutch was a practical joker with his friends, they didn’t believe he was choking.
Body of PCC counselor found
Longtime Portland Community College counselor, Roger Frank, was found dead in his van parked near Southeast 6th and Powell on Tuesday, reported KGW.
Frank was last seen on Saturday at the Blitz Bar in Southeast Portland, and police believe that he died of a heart condition.
Missing teenager from Junction City
Junction City Police believe that missing 18-year-old, Solomon James Delgado, may be in Eugene, reported KEZI.
Delgado is wanted for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
Delgado was last seen around noon on Monday near 881 W 6th Ave. and is 5’8 inches, has black hair and brown hair.

Oregon embryo experiment
Oregon scientists developed an embryo using genes from a man and two women, in a procedure that replaces some defective genes that can lead to incurable diseases, reported The Statesman Journal.
OHSU reseachers said they will not use the embryos to produce children nor have they determined if the procedure will be put to use, as there is some debate to what the risks are and if it is ethical to use.
Stabbing in Grants Pass Planned Parenthood
Anti-abortion protester, Chris Tolhurst, 54, was arrested after stabbing Ted A. Clair outside a Grants Pass Planned Parenthood on Tuesday, reported The Washington Post.
Tolhurst was picketing at the Planned Parenthood for the last few months when a young woman kicked one of his signs. Tolhurst pushed her out of the way and she came back with her father, Clair, who began attacking Tolhurst. Tolhurt said he stabbed Clair in self-defense.
Both survived their wounds.
