Burglary in Keizer
A burglar is still at large after attempting to steal several rifles from Keizer residents, Joe and Diane Kachaturian, on Sunday morning, reported KGW.
A flat-screen TV, several tools and a pistol were stolen from the couple’s home.
The Kachaturians described the burglar as a 5-foot-10-inch man, 150 pounds and with black hair.
Milwaukie resident dies in house fire
Eric Youngfellow, 76, died after his house caught on fire in Milwaukie, Ore. on Sunday, reported KGW.
A firefighter was also injured after falling off a second-floor perch, breaking his nose on impact.
Firefighters had a hard time putting out the fire due to abundant debris in the house that fed the flames.
Astoria bridge back on track
The Astoria-Megler Bridge reopened to traffic after crews removed deck panels loosened by strong winds on Monday morning, reported KGW.
Only one lane reopened by 11 a.m., there have been no updates since.
Oregon beer wins big
Oregon breweries won 23 medals from the 2012 Great American Beer Festival in Denver, reported the Portland Business Journal.
Of the 23 medals, five were gold: Portland’s Burnside Brewing Co. and Laurelwood Brewing, Newport’s Rogue Brewer, Bend’s Silver Mood Brewing, and Hood River’s Logsdon Farmhouse Ales.
Burning season begins
The Lane Regional Air Protection Agency announced on Monday that Lane County residents can burn yard debris, reported The Register-Guard.
Eugene and Springfield residents are still restricted from burning within the city limits.
