After trading sloppy turnovers throughout much of the first half, No. 3 Oregon turned up the heat in the third quarter. Sophomore De’Anthony Thomas tore a punt return 38 yards into Arizona territory, keying up a bizarre dual touchdown when Bryan Bennett and Colt Lyerla both kept the ball on an option read. The pair plowed into the endzone sharing the ball.
The next drive wasn’t a long one for the Ducks either. Marcus Mariota found freshman Bralon Addison in the seam for a 55 yard score and Oregon took the 28-0 lead.
