The Register-Guard reported Saturday that the Oregon State University is the lone Oregon university in the annual Fiske Guide to the 41 best buy colleges and universities. Since 2005, OSU had been climbing the list and the University of Oregon had been fading — until this year when OSU passed the UO for a spot in the top 41.
“It’s not a question of what’s cheapest,” Edward Fiske, author of the guide, told the Register-Guard. “It’s what’s offering the best quality in relation to the cost.”
According to OSU’s website, the Corvallis-based university is one of only two Pacific Northwest schools on the list.
