The Oregon Ducks won 3-2 and evened the series against Kent State Golden Flashes in the Eugene Super Regional. Both teams are competing for a spot in the 2012 College World Series. For most of the game, the Ducks’ offense could not get going, much of it due to the Golden Flashes’ pitcher Ryan Bores who played solidly, allowing only three hits in six innings. Entering the seventh inning with the Ducks down 0-2, Ryan Healy hit a single to center field. Brett Thomas came out and hit a single right past Kent State’s Alex Miklos, who missed the catch, which then allowed Healy to score and Thomas to make it to second. Kyle Garlick was walked and Ryan Hambright, who immediately followed, would go on to hit a game-tying RBI single. A short time later, Brett Hambright pulled off a bunt that allowed Garlick to score the go-ahead run. The Ducks’ defense took a hold of the game from there and stopped the Golden Flashes’ chances at a last-second win. Oregon will play Kent State in a decisive game 3 on Monday at 4 p.m.
