Oregon took on Cal State Fullerton on Saturday, June 2, 2012 in the second round of the Eugene Regional, recording a 7-5 win under pitcher Alex Keudell. The Ducks jumped to an early lead with an explosive four run first, followed by runs in the second, fourth, and eighth, recording 10 total hits on the night. The Titans did not let the Ducks off easy, however, with an impressive five run 5th inning that kept the pressure on until the final pitch. Oregon reliever Jimmie Sherfy closed the game’s final two innings, striking out two and recording the save. Keudell, with his 11th win on the year, also recorded the 24th of his career, becoming the winningest pitcher in Oregon history. The Ducks will play again tomorrow, June 3 at 4:00 P.M. in PK Park.
