It’s only 20 days until the 2013 Fiesta Bowl where the Oregon Ducks will face the Kansas State Wildcats. Every day we’ll post a meaningful photo from the year to recap the eventful season and get fans prepped for Oregon’s fourth consecutive BCS game. Be sure to check out the rest of The Emerald’s football coverage leading up to the game.
If there is one photo that is symbolic of Oregon’s 49-0 trouncing of Arizona, it’s this one of Colt Lyerla. Lyerla is the athletic freak of Oregon’s offensive attack and demonstrated this when his stiff arm knocked out Arizona cornerback Jonathan McKnight’s mouthpiece on his way to a big gain. The Ducks’ offense, not to mention the defense’s shutout, was superb in opening Pac-12 play at Autzen Stadium.
