The Oregon track and field teams received five more invitations to the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships Monday evening when the fields were announced.
Senior miler Michael McGrath and freshman pole vaulter Melissa Gergel were the two individuals chosen, along with both men’s relays – the 4x400m and the distance medley – and the women’s distance medley relay team.
Joining them will be four automatic qualifiers – Ashton Eaton in the men’s heptathlon, A.J. Acosta in the men’s mile, Alex Kosinski in the women’s mile and Nicole Blood in the women’s 3,000m.
Both Acosta and McGrath qualified for the indoor championships last year. It will be the first time any of the women have competed at the meet.
The NCAA championships will be Friday and Saturday in Fayetteville, Ark.
