The Oregon women’s soccer team will make its Pacific-10 Conference home debut Friday night, hosting its rival from Corvallis, Oregon State University. The Ducks (7-5-1, 0-2 Pac-10) will look to get their first conference win and snap the current three-game losing streak.
Sophomore Jen Stoltenberg’s eight goals place her among the best in the Pac-10. Her offense and the improving play of freshman keeper Cody Miles have anchored the Ducks so far.
Oregon State (5-6-1, 0-2 Pac-10) is also in search of its first conference win, as the Beavers were swept by the Bay Area schools a week ago. The Beavers are led offensively by Najma Homidi, with her team-high 4 goals, and two keepers, Colleen Boyd and Katie Bell.
The Ducks have a 6-4-2 edge in the all-time series after playing to a 2-2 tie in Corvallis last year. The Ducks have played three straight ranked teams on the road, but they’ll be back at Papé Field Friday night at 7 p.m.
