Kitty Piercy
Incumbent Mayor Kitty Piercy has focused on Eugene’s demand for sustainability. Piercy’s accomplishments include attracting the state’s first alternative fuels service station, attracting local firms to solar power and initiating collaboration on new business opportunities between experts at the University. In the realm of local social programs, Piercy is responsible for moving forward with project Homeless Connect.
Jim Torrey
The need for more job creation attracted Jim Torrey to run for mayor once again. Torrey’s track record as mayor includes ecruiting the national company Levi-Strauss to Eugene, which created 200 well-paying jobs. Torrey helped bring propane-fueled city cars and downward-shining lights to Eugene, and he was instrumental in continuing the ridgeline southern trail.
