The Oregon men are in ninth place through three rounds of the Pacific-10 Conference golf tournament, after falling four places in the last four holes.
The Ducks were as high as fifth place on Tuesday at the Meadow Club in Fairfax, Calif., but shot 15 over par over the last four holes to finish the day at 19 over. Their three-day score is 1,096, one shot back of eighth-place Arizona, which has 1,095.
USC has a two-shot lead over Arizona State going into the final day, 1,069 to 1,071. Cal (1,079) is in third, followed by UCLA (1,081), Stanford (1,087), Washington and Oregon State (tied at 1,094). The Trojans and Sun Devils were the only two teams to shoot under 370 Tuesday, carding scores of 357 and 356, respectively.
On the individual side, Duck seniors Joey Benedetti and Derek Sipe lead the Ducks, as both are tied for 20th place, shooting 218. Benedetti led the Ducks Tuesday with a 1-over-par 72. Isaiah Telles is tied for 24th with a 219, Sean Maekawa is tied for 30th at 221, Jack Dukeminier is tied for 34th at 222 and Eric Grimberg is tied for 55th at 232.
UCLA’s Kevin Chappell has a one-shot lead (209 to 210) over five other golfers – Arizona State’s James Byrne, Cal’s George Gandranata, USC’s Matthew Giles, Stanford’s Rob Grube and Arizona’s Creighton Honeck – with four others within three strokes.
