“The Happening”

It’ll be difficult for M. Night Shyamalan to recover from the trainwreck that was “Lady in the Water.” But if any movie is going to do it, it could be this one. Mark Wahlberg’s recently found acting skills may be just the thing Shyamalan needs to make another good film. Add in a legitimately frightening trailer – at least the first 10 times we all saw it – and you’ve got a potentially good movie. As long as Shyamalan avoids the twist ending, this could be worth watching.
“Get Smart”

It’s not that this movie is a sure hit, but with a cast this good it seems almost impossible that it could go very wrong. With “Evan Almighty,” Carrell proved that his involvement in a picture is not necessarily enough to make it funny, but with a good supporting cast and good material to work with, there seems to be much more of a chance of this movie succeeding. Plus, it’s going up against “The Love Guru,” and I can guarantee that will be worse.
