Motorcycle instructor recruitment: The TEAM OREGON Motorcycle Safety Program is holding an instructor recruitment seminar to find experienced, dedicated motorcyclists who want to share their passion and earn part-time money. 7-9 p.m. Lane Community College, Building 26, Room 314. Free.
Thursday, Oct. 11
Training sessions: The Outdoor Program offers two sessions on becoming a trip initiator for OP. Attendance at both sessions is required to become a river trip initiator. The first session is Oct. 11 at 7:30 p.m. at the Outdoor Program office in the EMU. The second session is also a short river trip, Oct. 13 at 9 a.m. at the OP Barn. $12 for the river trip. Work party: The Nature Conservancy of Oregon invites students to help preserve the ecology of Willow Creek Preserve in Eugene. More than 200 native plant, 100 bird and 25 butterfly species have been recorded on the preserve. 9:30 a.m. Meet at turnout on north side of West 18th Avenue, 1/’4 mile past Bertelsen Road. Bring a lunch, water and appropriate clothing as well as work gloves, clippers or a handsaw if possible. Free. For more information, call 682-5586.
Career fair: Workforce Network holds a Health Career Fair. Students thinking about nursing, physical therapy or medicine as a career may be interested. Local and regional health industry employers and colleges and universities offering health care training will be available. 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Workforce Network, 2510 Oakmont Way (behind Albertson’s on Coburg Road). Healing fair: The Intuitive Arts and Healing Fair comes to the Wheeler Pavilion at the Lane County Fairgrounds. 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday. Also 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. $5, children under 13 free.
