Bumping music, cherry pies, exotic dancing, banana eating and oil wrestling — they’re all part of a porn star’s plan to titillate Eugene.
Adult-film star Ron Jeremy will host Ron Jeremy’s S & M Sideshow at WOW Hall Saturday.
In a recent interview with the online rag The Onion, Jeremy said he began his career in the porn industry by “modeling for Playgirl magazine in 1978.” Since then, he has appeared in 1,500 “X-rated” motion pictures.
Now, Jeremy is going mainstream. At least, that is what he told Nick Ravo of The New York Times. Ron Jeremy’s S & M Sideshow is sponsored by Castle Superstore (“A kingdom of treasures for your adult pleasures”) and presented by Dan Steinberg. And in this show, it is the audience’s responsibility to execute the action.
“We have been assured that Ron Jeremy will keep his clothes on,” WOW Hall publicist Bob Fennessy said. “He is a body burlesque.”
Jeremy, who graduated from Queens College with a degree in education, will perform stand-up comedy, hold a question and answer session with the audience and emcee a series of contests, dances and sporting events.
“It’s sex humor, but no sex in the show,” Steinberg said. “The show follows the laws of the land.”
Steinberg said the show begins with a contest called “Spit or Swallow” and a banana and cherry pie eating contest, to boot. Are the contests gender specific? Use your imagination… In addition, Steinberg said there will be a variety of questions such as, “What is your favorite sexual position?”
If Ron Jeremy’s S & M Sideshow is not seen for its eccentric guests and lively activities, then go to view a live porn-star. “He’s the most single recognized male actor in the world without having to use any dialogue,” Steinberg said. “He’s every guy’s dream — to get paid to have sex with women.”
The hairy “Prince of Porn” is known for his ad-lib wise cracks, sexual innuendoes, odd countenance and his Web site www.ronjeremy.com. In addition, Jeremy told The Onion that his “unit” is nine and three-quarter inches long.
“[The S & M Sideshow] is the coolest comedy in the world — you get to see a weird looking male porn star, which rarely ever happens. This show is based on audience participation, but Ron hosts it. It’s like a circus — a freak show,” Dan Steinberg said. “It’s a really rowdy … hilarious show.”
The show opens with the punk bands Sprung Monkey and Slightly Stoopid, both of which are on Sublime’s Skunk Records label. They have played with Sublime, Reel Big Fish and Blink-182. Slightly Stoopid is nicknamed the “house band” of the surf/skate/snowboard industry. Their music is featured on videos, television programs and sporting events such as the ESPN X-Games.
Guest DJ Deep Throat will spin between acts and Ringside Ryan Andrews will be on hand as well.
Andrews, who is a pro-wrestling spokesman will add a “WWF flair that keeps the banter going,” said Steinberg. He may be the referee for the female oil-wrestling exhibition.
WOW Hall asks that viewers of the S & M Sideshow be older than 18. Doors open at 9 p.m. and the show time is 10 p.m. Whatever you do, don’t go on a full stomach: The first 100 people in the door get free nut rolls. Tickets are available at the WOW Hall and FASTIXX for $13.50 in advance and $15 on the day of the event. Adult refreshments are available downstairs for those over 21 with ID.
