Men’s hoops sinks Northern Arizona —
The men’s basketball team was 12-of-22 from
three-point land and shot 55 percent overall in a
86-51 blowout of Northern Arizona on Sunday at Mac
Court.
Freddie Jones — benched for the second straight game
— led a trio of Ducks who scored 15 points in
Oregon’s second straight win. Sophomores Luke Ridnour
and Luke Jackson combined to shoot 11-of-15, scoring
15 points each.
At 6-3 overall, the Ducks have won by an average of 24
points. Their three losses — on the road against
UMass, Portland and Minnesota — were by a combined
eight points.
Pacific-10 Conference play begins Thursday as Arizona
State enters The Pit on Thursday for a 7 p.m. tipoff.
No. 10 Arizona will face the Ducks at 6 p.m. Saturday
for a Fox Sports Net telecast.

No. 2 Oklahoma State pins Ducks —
The Oregon wrestling team dropped a non-league dual
match 30-3 to second-ranked Oklahoma State Sunday
evening at McArthur Court.
Oregon junior Brian Watson (141 pounds) picked up
Oregon’s only win with a 3-2 decision over the
Cowboys’ Ronnie Delk.
Oregon head coach Chuck Kearney said the lopsided
final score did not reflect the Ducks’ effort against
the nation’s second-best team. Six of the 10 matches
were decided by one point.
“We haven’t ever wrestled Oklahoma State this tough,”
Kearney said. “We had a lot of shots along the way,
but they won the close matches and that’s the hump we
need to get over.”
