Heading into today’s final round of the Pac-10 Championships the Oregon men found success late in the third round. The Ducks will start today’s final round in last place at 65-over-par.
Derek Sipe leads the team at 12-over-par and is tied for 44th going into today’s final round. Sipe is followed by All-American senior Gregg LaVoie, who is 13-over-par, and Chris Dukeminier is 14-over-par.
The Ducks matched their first round score of 373 in Tuesday’s third round. Without a major improvement, today is the last match of the season.
The Bruins head into today’s final round 6-under-par and in first place. Washington is even par and Arizona is tied with Arizona State to round out the top three teams.
UCLA’s Daniel Im is 8-under-par and holds a two-shot lead over Arizona State’s Niklas Lemke.
Arizona’s Ben Fox and Washington’s Erik Olson are tied for third at 2-under-par.
The Ducks head into the today’s final round needing to find last year’s “happy place,” which helped them to a 2005 top-five finish. If the Ducks can make up their 12-shot deficit, the team can move from the bottom of the leaderboard.
