Detour awaits motorists on McVay Highway

Motorists traveling northbound on McVay Highway to Franklin Boulevard during the next two weeks will face a detour beginning at 7:30 a.m. today.
Traffic on McVay Highway will be re-routed west onto East 19th Avenue and then north on Henderson Avenue to Franklin Boulevard. Construction crews are planning to realign McVay Highway and Franklin Boulevard and to reconfigure the intersection, but eastbound travel on Franklin Boulevard will not be affected.
The roadwork is part of Lane Transit District’s new EmX bus transit system, which is planned to open to the public in December 2006.
